Optional contributions

Guests can voluntarily contribute money toward the gathering. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.

How it works

  1. A host creates an event page describing the gathering and what's needed.
  2. The host shares the event link with their guests.
  3. Guests RSVP, claim items to bring, and optionally make a financial contribution toward the event.
  4. Contributions go to the host to fund the gathering; the host manages the event from their dashboard.

How payments work

Financial contributions are optional. When a guest chooses to contribute, RSVPlea creates a secure Stripe Checkout session for a single item ("Contribution to [event name]"). We never handle or store your card details — payments are processed entirely by Stripe.

Funds are routed via Stripe Connect to the event host's connected Stripe account to fund their gathering. RSVPlea retains a 5% platform fee on each contribution to operate the service. Contribution amounts are set by guests (or suggested by the host) and are typically small.
